Karin S. Stein

​Karin Stein joined Carroll & Wallace Barristers in 2005. Prior to joining Carroll & Wallace, Karin articled at a well-regarded civil litigation firm in Ottawa. During her time at Carroll & Wallace, Karin has worked on public inquiries, criminal and quasi-criminal cases and disciplinary matters. Karin  also has extensive experience dealing with clients suffering from mental health issues and has appeared before the Ontario Review Board.  Karin  has also appeared as counsel before all levels of courts in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Karin is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Common Law program and received a Masters in Criminology from the University of Ottawa. Karin is also a graduate of McGill University's psychol​ogy program and received a graduate certificate in Criminology from the University of Toronto. Karin is a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa Common Law Faculty where she teaches Trial Advocacy and Appellate Advocacy.
 
Karin is the President of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, and a longtime member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the County of Carleton Law Association.

Karin is originally from Montreal and is available to assist clients in both English and French.
