William (Bill) J. Carroll (1947-2016)
Bill was called to the Bar in 1975 and practiced exclusively as a criminal defence lawyer in Ottawa for his entire career. Over his longstanding career, Bill was counsel on thousands of cases and appeared as counsel in many high profile matters. Bill worked on the Cornwall Public Inquiry for several years as counsel to the Ontario Provincial Police Association. Everyone at Carroll & Wallace benefited from Bill's vast experience and knowledge in criminal law and Bill was an exceptional mentor for many years to the two associates at Carroll & Wallace - Karin Stein and Elizabeth Warren.
Bill was a longtime member of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Carleton County Law Association.
Originally from Toronto, Bill was a graduate of the University of Ottawa Common Law program and received a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Pat's College (Carleton University).
